Kale

Kale. It’s a Superfood. It’s BIG. It’s everywhere, right?

The Washington Post is observing Veterans Day with a story previewing the Pentagon report on the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy:

“More than 70 percent of respondents to a survey sent to active-duty and reserve troops over the summer said the effect of repealing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy would be positive, mixed or nonexistent, said two sources familiar with the document. The survey results led the report’s authors to conclude that objections to openly gay colleagues would drop once troops were able to live and serve alongside them.”

The chief authors of the study are Pentagon General Counsel Jeh Johnson and the Commander of U.S. Forces in Europe, General Carter Ham.

Tareq’s Pique at the Post

Real Househusband Tareq Salahi blames the Washington Post for the fact that the world sees him and his wife as “delusional grifters.” He told the Daily Beast‘s Nicole LaPorte that the Post revealed the Salahi’s family lawsuits, bankruptcy filings, and unpaid debts out of revenge. For what? For unpaid advertising bills from his bankrupt polo event and winery.

The couple had their lawyer send a stern email to fellow reality show cast members cautioning them to cease calling the Salahis “White House crashers.” Other “Real Housewives” told the press about the email, claim the duo, because they crave media attention. 

When you Google “delusional grifters,” expect the search results to read “Tareq and Michaele Salahi.”

Elections as Temper Tantrums

Two out of three American voters don’t like the Democrats. Three out of four don’t like the Republicans. But get this: registered voters told Gallup they’re going to vote for Republicans over Democrats by a 10-point margin.

 Eugene Robinson explains:

“According to polls, Americans are in a mood to hold their breath until they turn blue. Voters appear to be so fed up with the Democrats that they’re ready to toss them out in favor of the Republicans — for whom, according to those same polls, the nation has even greater contempt. This isn’t an ‘electoral wave,’ it’s a temper tantrum.”
