In case you missed it, when former Alaska Temp-Governor Sarah Palin left a Borders bookstore in Noblesville, Indiana on November 19th, hundreds of supporters bid her adieu with heartfelt chants of “Quitter! Quitter!”
Mrs. Palin quit signing books halfway through the event. About 400 wristband-wearing customers who had purchased her book-like objects and waited hours to have her sign them were left out in the cold rain.
Bookplates with simulated Palin signatures were distributed in an attempt to placate the disgruntled mob before they could grab torches and pitchforks. Most customers were unhappy with this, but we find it fitting. After all, Mrs. Palin’s “memoir” was written by someone else and she rides a private jet on her “bus tour,” so an imitation autograph seems perfectly appropriate.
