The title is not a punctuation error. In honor of Mother’s Day, we present cooking videos featuring Moms and Grandmas:

Mom’s Cooking (myLifetime.com) — Jerri Heard shows daughter Jamilla Lisbon how to make cheese grits  and eggs (7;22). 60 episodes of Mom’s Cooking are available online.

Cooking with Grandma Alvina (CHOW) —   Alvina Mangrai teaches granddaughter Alyssa how to make her Burmese treats:  prawn curry and coconut rice (6:21).

Feed Me Bubbe (Chalutz Productions)—  Bayla Sher teaches shows grandson Avrom how Kosher cooking (“Bubbe” is Yiddish for “Grandma”).  Bubbe Bayla moved to Arizona from Worchester MA.  Watch this interview, then nosh on the 28 episodes.  Recipes are divided into kosher categories: dairy, meat, and parve (fish or vegetables).

My Mom’s Easy Chicken and Dumplings — Evelyn McRaney shows her son how to make a classic Southern dish (8:34).

Cooking With Mom: Mul Kimchee (IEATNY) –– Korean pickled veggies in a juffy (2:40). 

Mother’s Cooking (chefcamtv)— Professional Chef Lisa Schroeder talks, cooks, and eat with Moms. Object: food memories.

The 99 Cent Chef’s Mom’s Jambalaya— LA’s 99-Cent Chef  Billy Vasquez and his Mom cook up a mess ‘o jambalaya (6:23).

Cooking with Mom, with Beatrice Nicholas: Peach PieChris Nicholas documented his Mom making her “awesome” peach pie in Florida in 1998 (B&W; 2:08).

Depression Cooking —  Tasty and timely. Great grandmother Clara Cannucciari prepares meals from the Great Depression. Watch the short CBS News feature first.

    Some truly inspiring videos here celebrating all that is good with cooking. I was particularly taken with the ‘depression cooking’ with grandmother Clara Cannucciari. She very much reminds me of the great lady whom introduced me and taught me so many ideals around my culinary skills. This was many years ago now but have served me well over the years. My grandmother tales of rationing during the war and how to get the best from very limited supplies during this period of her life were simply awe inspiring and akin to what Clara also experienced. We tend to take for granted our food more in these modern times, I think we still have a lot to learn…
