Gilbert Arenas, Silenced

The new NBA season is upon us, and Washington Wizard Gilbert Arenas is back among the shooters. Mr. Arenas is also on probation for felony gun offenses, having brought four handguns into the team locker room after an argument over a card game.  He returns to basketball after a month in a halfway house.

There is media interest about the sports millionaire’s gun incident and halfway house experience, but NBA Commissioner Stern told Mr. Arenas not to shoot his mouth off about it.

Gilbert Arenas Sentencing

NBA Wizards star Gilbert Arenas avoided jail time, just like he did in his last gun conviction seven years ago. He will  have to spend 30 days in a half-way house and perform 400 hours of community service. The pro athlete, who has a $111 million six-year contract, must also contribute $5,000 to a fund for victims of violence and look contrite whenever he sees a camera.

Javaris Crittenton Pleads Guilty on Gun Charge

January 25, 2010

Washington Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor gun possession. The 200-pound, 6-foot-5-inch millionaire athlete explained that he illegally brought a pistol across state lines and into the Verizon Center locker room because he feared for his life after he and teammate Gilbert Arenas argued over a card game.

Previously, Mr. Arenas pleaded guilty to felony gun possession. He first said he brought four handguns from his home into the team locker room to keep them away from his children, but later abondoned that claim. It’s pretty obvious that someone who can afford a million-dollar swimming pool can afford to buy a home gun safe.

Gilbert Arenas — What a Card!

Gilbert Arenas -- What a Card!

Gilbert Arenas jokingly threatened Wizard teammate Javaris Crittenton with guns due to a disagreement over a game of Bourré (Bouré, Boo-Ray), we are told. The press found out and put the stunt on page one. The player’s reaction: F*ck ’em if they can’t take a joke. The NBA has suspended Mr. Arenas indefinitely, without pay, and a grand jury is examining the incident, as the Wizards point guard does not have a permit to clown with handguns in the District of Columbia.

Once a champion tweeter, Mr. Arenas has closed his Twitter account, according to City Desk. If you need some amusement to compensate, make your own Gilbert bobblehead on Agent Zero’s personal website.
