From a story by Dr. Seuss , adapted by Phil Eastman and Bill Scott . An Academy Award winner. The story had been released as a sound recording for children in 1950, with music by Gail Kubik. Dr. Seuss published his story as a children’s book in 1951. with Mel Crawford ‘s illustrations derived from the cartoon. A true multi-media trifecta.

The title is a pun on a 1944 noir film . Voice actors: Jim Backus (Magoo), Jerry Hausner (insurance salesman). Disability was considered a legitimate source of humor back then.
