An Academy Award winner. The story had been released as a sound recording for children in 1950, with music by Gail Kubik. Dr. Seuss published his story as a children’s book in 1951. with Mel Crawford‘s illustrations derived from the cartoon. A true multi-media trifecta.

“Trouble Indemnity,” a 1950 UPA theatrical cartoon featuring Mr. Magoo, directed by Pete Burness and John Hubley, written by Phil Eastman, Al Smalley, and Bill Scott, with music by Del Castillo. The title is a pun on a 1944 noir film. Voice actors: Jim Backus (Magoo), Jerry Hausner (insurance salesman). Disability was considered a legitimate source of humor back then.
