Pentagon: Most UFO Reports Are 'Unremarkable'

The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) recently reported that most sightings of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) are “unremarkable,” glimpses of balloons, drones, or airborne plastic bags and other trash.

If you’re keeping score at home, UAPs used to be called UFOS and, before that, flying saucers; the AARO was called the Airborne Object Identification and Management Group (AOIMSG) and, before that, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF).

There you have it. Klaatu barada nikto.

UFOs Come to Congress

May 19, 2022

UFOs Are Coming to Congress

At Tuesday’s Congressional UFO hearings, we were stunned to learn that UFOs are actually … UAPs, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. Gasp. And UAPs are … unidentified! Just like the name says. The mind boggles.

The subcommittee also met in closed session, so there may be terrestrial counterintelligence aspects to some of the UAP sightings.

More:

“Congress dives into UFOs, but no signs of extraterrestrials,” Nomaan Merchant, Associated Press

“Out-of-this-world revelations in short supply at US Congress briefing on UFOs,” Adam Gabbatt,The Guardian

“The military’s UFO database now has info from about 400 reported incidents,” Christopher Dean Hopkins and Giles Snyder, NPR

“UFOs are real, and they have abducted Elise Stefanik,” Dana Milbank, Washington Post

New Pentagon UFO Program

December 2, 2021

New Pentagon UFO Program

There’s a new UFO program at the Pentagon. The Navy’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force is out, and the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG) is in. The new program will lead all federal Ufology efforts and “assess and mitigate any associated threats to safety of flight and national security.” This will all be led by an Airborne Object Identification and Management Executive Council (AOIMEXEC).

“AOIMEXEC” sounds like an archeological site in Yucatan. And “AOIMSG” is obviously named after a food additive.

More:

“Pentagon creates new group to monitor and ‘mitigate’ threat from UFOs,” Mike Snider, USA Today

“Pentagon silent on whether UFO tracking officials will wear black suits, sunglasses,” Jeff Schogol, Task & Purpose

“The Pentagon gave its new UFO task force the least sexy name possible,” Andrew Paul, Input

Pentagon UFO Program Revealed

December 18, 2017

Pentagon UFO Program Revealed

The Pentagon has confirmed that it ran a multi-million-dollar UFO investigation program for five years. The Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program (AATIP) was initiated through the urging of Harry Reid, then Senate Majority Leader, influenced by a hotel billionaire and the lead singer of the rock group Blink-182.

Still, there’s justification for interest. The military had detected several unexplained aerial phenomena, including a 2004 UFO sighting by two navy pilots:

French Town Upholds 62-Year-Old Ban on UFOs

December 2, 2016

French Town Upholds 62-Year-Old Ban on UFOs

The mayor of the French town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape has upheld a 62-year-old law banning UFOs.

The 1954 law was established after a man in northern France said he had seen two figures that looked like ‘deep sea divers’ emerging from a ‘cigar-shaped’ space ship.

But don’t make yourself a tin foil hat yet. Lucien Jeune’s son, Elie Jeune, has dismissed his father’s decree as a “publicity stunt”, telling reporters: ‘At that time, people were talking a lot about extraterrestrials and the unknown, it was in fashion, and there were loads of stories circulating.’

‘He wanted to make a bit of an advertisement for Châteauneuf. It was an excellent publicity stunt… and free.’ Journalists flocked to Châteauneuf-du-Pape from all over the world and, predictably, the public couldn’t get enough of the story.

— “‘No UFOs allowed’: French mayor refuses to overturn town’s bizarre extraterrestrial ban,” Hazel Plush, The Telegraph
