Cats Know Names, But Won't Answer to Them

Researchers in Japan are obsessed with cats, probably due to childhoods swamped in Hello Kitty. A few years back, they discovered that cats know their own names, even if they usually won’t respond when you call them. Now they’ve learned that cats know the names of their feline friends, too. Maybe they want to know if you’re giving treats to other kitties instead of them.

Sports: The Big Game

Sunday’s big game. The passion. The rivalry. The tail-wagging.

That’s right, it was the 2022 Puppy Bowl. If you didn’t hear, Team Fluff won. Coaches and commentators were Martha Stewart and (of course) Snoop Dogg.

It’s 2022 in America, so some very, very bad boys tried to offer online betting on the Puppy Bowl. No treats for them.

Man’s Best Friend

February 15, 2020

“Man’s Best Friend,” a 1952 Disney Studios theatrical cartoon featuring Goofy, directed by Jack Kinney. This is the film that sparked a major philosophical discussion: is Goofy a dog or what? Did he used to be a dog? Now he owns a dog? Whoa. Heavy, dude.

Written by Milt Banta and Al Bertino. Principal animation by George Nicholas, John Sibley, Charles A. Nichols, and Hugh Fraser. Narrator: Alan Reed. Voice actors: Pinto Colvig and Jimmy MacDonald.
