Trump Skips World Leaders’ COVID-19 Meeting to Play Golf

Trump Skips World Leaders' COVID-19 Meeting to Play Golf

“Donald Trump skipped the G20 summit’s ‘Pandemic Preparedness’ event to visit one of his golf clubs on the same day that a record 195,500 new Covid-19 infections were reported in a 24-hour period in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins.

The summit, attended by world leaders from across the globe, is being held virtually this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has now killed more than 250,000 Americans – by far the largest total in the world.

Trump’s apparent disinterest in the summit started earlier on Saturday when he started tweeting about the election results after the scheduled start time of the summit at 8am ET. The president appeared via video link during the summit’s opening remarks but by 10am, Trump was leaving the White House to go to his golf course outside of Washington DC, according to CNN.”

Trump Loses While On the Golf Course, Where He Spent His Term

Trump Loses While On the Golf Course, Where He Spent His Term

As election officials sealed his re-election defeat and 230,000 Americans lay dead, Comander-in-Cheat Donald Trump was on his Viriginia golf course on Saturday morning, where he has spent 284 days of his presidency So far. With 73 days left in office, there’s plenty of time for this lame-duck sore loser to pardon his imprisoned co-conspirators (if not himself), poison the wells, burn the crops, and sow the fields with salt. All from the greens of Trump-branded golf properties, of course, where the caddies won’t call him out for kicking balls closer to the holes.

Watch out, though. President-Elect Biden also plays golf.

Trump’s Heavy Workload: Golf & More Golf

November 24, 2017

Trump's Heavy Workload: Golf & More Golf

President Donald Trump is spending Thanksgiving weekend at his members-only Mar-a-Lago golf club.

“Over the course of his presidency, Trump has spent all or part of 98 days at properties associated with his private business — once every 3.1 days. He’s probably played golf 60 times, once every 5.1 days. We say ‘probably’ because Trump doesn’t like to admit when he’s playing golf, again because he wants to give the impression that he’s always working.”

“Trump’s team insists he has a ‘full schedule’ an hour before he goes golfing,” Philip Bump, Washington Post

President Trump’s Busy July: Golf and More Golf

August 2, 2017

President Trump's Busy July: Golf and More Golf
“It’s hard to see how July could have gone much worse for President Trump.

It was revealed that, contrary to his repeated insistence, his son had been tipped off about Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 election — and had embraced those efforts with open arms. Trump signed no new legislation, and saw his main policy focus, health care, collapse yet again on Capitol Hill. He lost his press secretary after hiring a controversial new communications director, and then enjoyed the spectacle of that new hire giving a remarkably vulgar on-record interview to a reporter about his chief of staff, who resigned the next day. Trump traveled to Europe to meet with other world leaders, and returned home to unflattering reviews of his conversation with Vladimir Putin. The one that the White House told reporters about, that is.

But the month wasn’t a total wash! Trump managed to squeeze in at least eight rounds of golf over the course of July and, with the exception of one Saturday he was stuck flying back from Europe, hit up one of his personal businesses on every single weekend day.”

“As of July 31, Trump’s visited his own properties on 57 of the 193 days he’s been president, a rate of once every 3.4 days. He’s played golf once every 5.7 days ….”

— “Trump had a terrible July, but at least he played a lot of golf,” Philip Bump, Washington Post

President Trump Addresses the Issues

June 5, 2017

President Trump Addresses the Issues

“President Donald Trump on Sunday headed to the Trump National Golf Club after calling for the U.S. to ‘get smart’ and ‘get down to the business of security’ in the wake of an attack in London that killed seven people and wounded dozens more.

‘We must stop being politically correct and get down to the business of security for our people. If we don’t get smart it will only get worse,’ Trump tweeted Sunday in a series of posts where he appeared to criticize a statement by London’s mayor on the attack.

He then headed to the Trump National Golf Club, according to a pool report, for his second visit in two days and his 23rd visit to a golf course since assuming the presidency.”
