Fast food and Fine Art. Get them both at the most important museum in France. McDonald’s is coming to the Louvre.
The French take Art and cuisine seriously, and regard the museum as a national symbol. They are not amused by McMusée, but the rest of us are.
But not so fast. McDo (as Mickey Dee is called by the French) is coming to the Louvre’s food court, underground in the Carrousel du Louvre shopping mall.
Wait a minute. The Louvre has a shopping mall with a food court?
Mais oui. With a Virgin Megastore, Sephora, The Body Shop, an Apple Store, and sushi.
There are1,000 McDo outlets in France. The food chain has been in the country for 30 years. The McDonald’s on the Champs-Elysees is said to be the most profitable in the world.
So bon appétit, art lovers.
