NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre testified at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on gun violence Wednesday, explaining that Americans need high-capacity firearms in order to defend their right to own high-capacity firearms. He probably did that to draw attention away from the fact that the NRA now opposes background checks for all gun buyers, a policy it once supported, and the fact that he is paid a million bucks a year for this kind of blather.
