Jakarta is sinking

Jakarta, Indonesia, is sinking. While the coastal city is prone to flooding due to sea level rise, the land is subsiding as much as 25 cm (9.8 inches) a year as residents extract water from underground. A Vox video.

Indonesia is the globe’s most populous Muslim nation. It is also the second-largest Facebook market, the third-largest for Twitter.  Many of the country’s teens own mobile phones.
