Texas-born country singer George Jones died Friday morning at the age of 81. That’s a remarkably ripe old age for a man who performed so many songs about death and dissolution and lived the hard-drinking life he sang about . We favor his awesome rendition of James Taylor’s “Bartender’s Blues ,” but he is better known for his duets with Tammy Wynette and this tune by Bobby Braddock and Curly Putman:
