George Jones, 1931 -- 2013

Texas-born country singer George Jones died Friday morning at the age of 81. That’s a remarkably ripe old age for a man who performed so many songs about death and dissolution and lived the hard-drinking life he sang about. We favor his awesome rendition of James Taylor’s “Bartender’s Blues,” but he is better known for his duets with Tammy Wynette and this tune by Bobby Braddock and Curly Putman:
