“Women earn 79 cents for every dollar a man makes.” Factually correct, but that doesn’t reflect the complexity of the problem. Sarah Kliff explains:
“The Christian seed of radical equality between men and women must bring new fruits,” Pope Francis said on Wednesday. “We should support with decisiveness the right to equal pay for equal work. Why should it be taken for granted that women must earn less than men? The disparity is pure scandal.”
There was a big election in Scotland on September 18th, and the “Ayes” have it. For the first time since its founding in 1754, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews will admit women to its membership.
