Sarah Palin, Mother of Our Nation

August 28, 2010

Sarah Palin, Mother of Our Nation

Former Alaska Temp-Governor Sarah Palin, whose five children include professional unwed teen mother Bristol and infantryman Track, faced Fox News fans at the Lincoln Memorial today and proclaimed:

“I’ve been asked to speak as the mother of a soldier, and I’m proud of that distinction. You know, say what you want to say about me but I raised a combat vet, and you can’t take that away from me.”

“No woman gives birth thinking she will hand over her child to her country, but that’s what mothers have done from ancient days.”

Mrs. Palin: Thank you for your cervix.

What Glenn Beck Means to DC

August 27, 2010

What Glenn Beck Means to DC

Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and thousands of their gun-totin’ pals from the National Rifle Association are coming to the Nation’s Capital on Saturday to commemorate their deeply held belief in something-or-other. The date, January 28th, is the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and the rally will be in the same place it was heard, the Lincoln Memorial. Perhaps the NRA will have T-shirts honoring Dr. King and President Lincoln, both assassinated by gunshot.

But this weekend’s event means more than hijacked history, Tea Party antics,  and Glenn Beck’s self-promotion. To the people of Washington, the rally means closed streets, crowded subways, and paranoid Tea Party tourists. In short, just another weekend in Washington.

DC With Glenn Beck: Tea Party Tourism

DC With Glenn Beck: Tea Party Tourism

Glen Beck and his pals are observing the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech next Saturday (August 28, 2010) by gathering at the Lincoln Memorial with the National Rifle Association. Very fitting, since President Lincoln and Rev. King were assassinated by gunshot.

Beck’s buddies are boldly standing up for something-or-other but, unlike 20 million other tourists each year, they’re scared stiff of Washington DC. Beck blogs warn them to avoid the Green and Yellow Metro lines where they might encounter rampaging hordes of junior high students and other urban horrors.

‘I Have a Dream” Nightmare

August 3, 2010

'I Have a Dream' Nightmare
August 28th will mark the 47th anniversary of Rev. Martin Luther King’s “March on Washington.” To commemorate this landmark of nonviolence and the martyred  moral leader, media demagogue Glenn Beck and the National Rifle Association will throw a party. It will be in the same place as the 1963 march: the Lincoln Memorial, shrine to an American president who was shot to death.

Instead of Dr. King, the mob will hear consummate orator Sarah Palin; instead of singer Marian Anderson, the music of noted patriot and guitarist Ted Nugent. What could be more respectful or fitting?

God’s Plan: Sarah Palin on Fox News

God's Plan: Sarah Palin on Fox News

It was God’s Plan for Sarah Palin to help the GOP lose the Presidency last year. The former Temp Governor didn’t get elected, but she is now among the Elect. Mrs. Palin has signed a contract to appear as a sideshow attraction commentator on Fox News.

Mrs. Palin has had plenty of journalism experience — and not just with Katie Couric.  She earned a degree in journalism after attending five of America’s finest backwater colleges (one of them twice), and worked as a sportswriter for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman and as a professional broadcaster  on KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV in Anchorage.

Mrs. Palin’s writing style is too incoherent for broadcast, even on Fox, and ghostwriter Lynn Vincent may not be available, but the program can start tomorrow. Over the past two years Sarah Palin has capably memorized and performed scripts from the Howard Beale Show.

Christmas 2009: Santa Still Laid Off

December 18, 2009

Christmas 2009: Santa Still Laid Off

For 107 years, Santa Claus had a steady seasonal job on the sidewalks of New York City, ringing a bell and collecting donations for the Volunteers of America charity. Last year, he got laid off. Santa is still unemployed.

On the bright side, New York’s Fox News used our graphic this year. For free.

As they say in the Big Apple, Merry Freakin’ Christmas.

Yes, Virginia (and New York, New Jersey, et al.). You can still donate to VOA. Look here.
