COVID-19: Trump Shares With Rich Pals at Bedminster

Trump Shares With Rich Pals at Bedminster

After learning that his close aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for COVID-19, President Donald Trump returned to the White House to begin 14 days of quarantine after testing positive.

But not before meeting — unmasked — with 100 rich supporters at Trump Bedminster golf club in New Jersey. Mr. Trump’s campaign got about $5 million from the event; in exchange, his wealthy supporters got photos with the president and exposure to the novel coronavirus.

Mr. Trump knew Ms. Hicks had COVID-19 before he went to Bedminster, just like he knew the virus was deadly and easily transmitted back in January, before he let 200,000 Americans die from it. Bedminster exhibits a truly nonpartisan callous indifference to human life.

Mommy’s Little Virus Vector

October 2, 2020

Mommy's Little Virus Vector

There are  56 million K-12 students in the United States, and school districts, politicians, some and parents are anxious for them to get back to schoolrooms and off the kitchen table virtual classroom. But information on COVID-19 in children is just coming to light, and attempts at safely re-opening schools have been spotty and uneven.

Though Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and other Trump idolators prefer to operate in the absence of facts, a new study of 85,000 people with COVID-19 and their 575,000 contacts found that children contract and transmit the coronavirus as frequently as their elders. That means kids, especially the super-spreaders among them, can infect each other, their teachers, and their parents and caregivers. Teachers, understandably, are concerned. And while infected children are less likely to suffer fatalities, there appear to be long-term consequences of COVID-19 infection.

Until September, child sacrifice in the U.S. was a weird QAnon conspiracy theory. Opening schools in a pandemic without real planning makes it reality.

CDC: Halloween Has Been Canceled.

September 29, 2020

CDC: Halloween Has Been Canceled.

Kids, candy manufacturers, and sugar addicts across the country are feeling cursed. First, due to COVID-19, we had an Easter without jellybeans, Peeps, or chocolate bunnies. Now, thanks to the pandemic, the CDC has canceled Halloween parties, indoor haunted houses, and trick-or-treating. Scary. Las fiestas del Día de los Muertos también. ¡Ay, caramba!

Another frightening thought: Halloween is a big, boozy, binge-drinking holiday, and alcohol sales are up already due to the pandemic. That’s not conducive to responsible social distancing.

Trump Blames Biden For Lack of National Mask Mandate

September 18, 2020

Trump Blames Biden For Absence of National Mask Mandate

“President Donald Trump moved to blame his Democratic competitor, former Vice President Joe Biden, for not instituting a national mask mandate during the coronavirus pandemic.

The claim, made at an ABC News town hall Tuesday with undecided voters in Pennsylvania, is misleading for two reasons: Biden has, in fact, urged all state governors to mandate mask-wearing to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Democratic candidate is also not the president and has no authority to mandate anything. Trump does.”

— “Trump Blames Biden, Who Isn’t President, For Not Instituting Mask Mandate,” Nick Visser, Huffington Post

In April, as the coronavirus pandemic was killing thousands of Americans, the United States Postal Service planned to distribute 650 million masks, five per U.S. household. and even drafted a press release. about it.
