“Green Chri$tma$,” a 1958 send-up of holiday commercialism by humorist Stan Freberg, who was also an award-winning advertising executive. Music Director Billy May led the Columbia Records house orchestra and Jud Colon Chorale. At first the record was denounced as sacrilegious and many radio stations refused to play it, but the reality of this satire’s target became all too evident.

“The origins of the secularized, cash-driven end-of-year holiday are to be found in the early nineteenth-century American East, where a boom of industrialism and prosperity coincided with an influx of German immigrants who celebrated Christmas, rather than the New Year of the English.”

Global Warming has really disturbed the seasons here in Washington DC. Christmas started breaking out before Halloween. It’s not even Thanksgiving, but Christmas is in full swing all over town.
Actually, it’s not Christmas, it’s Xmas, the annual high holiday of retail. Here’s the early scouting report from the neighborhood:
McDonald’s™ , McNuggets™ , and the letter “M” are registered trademarks of the McDonald’s™ Obesity Corporation. The very word Olympics™ and the burping cartoon guy are registered trademarks of the IMF IOC, which has the gall to link athletic excellence with junk food. Anyway, all this advertising crapola is used here under the parody clause of the Fair Use Doctrine.
