“Please Come Home For Christmas,” written by Charles Brown and Gene Redd, recorded by Mr. Brown in 1960, followed an earlier hit, “Merry Christmas Baby.” “Please Come Home For Christmas” sold steadily every December and by 1968 had sold a million copies.
Many of Charles Brown’s subsequent titles should come as no surprise: “It’s Christmas All Year Round,” “Christmas In Heaven,” “Christmas Questions,” “Wrap Yourself In A Christmas Package,” “Christmas Blues,” “My Most Miserable Christmas,” “Christmas Comes But Once A Year,” “Let’s Make Every Day A Christmas Day.”
