'Cassette Tape' Erased Fron the Dictionary? Rewind That.

You may have read that the new 12th edition of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary omits the term “cassette tape” from its entries to make room for a bunch of new Web terms like “sexting,” “retweet” and “woot.” Digital displaces analog, get it? Good story, only it doesn’t appear to be true.

 Sony Walkman: It's Alive!

You may have heard that Sony is hitting “erase” on the Walkman cassette player, stopping sale of the machine that started the personal portable music era 30 years ago. Not quite.

Sony has stopped producing and selling the cassette players in Japan, reports Shan Li in the Los Angeles Times, but at this time there are no plans to stop sales in the U.S.A.
