Buddy Emmons, 1937 — 2015

Buddy Emmons, pedal steel guitar innovator, died on Wednesday at age 78. A virtuoso of the complicated instrument, which he helped modify into its current form, he added its distinctive sound to countless honky tonk, country, and pop recordings.
