Runaway

Bonnie Raitt performed Del Shannon‘s “Runaway” on the Midnight Special TV show in 1977. Will McFarlane in on lead guitar, Freebo on bass, Rosemary Butler is the backup vocalist, and the drummer is probably Dennis Whitted.  Norton Buffalo recreated Max Crook‘s original keyboard bridge solo on harmonicas – it took four of them. Watch closely, it’s awesome.

Lonnie Mack, 1941-- 2016

Virtuoso electric guitarist Lonnie Mack died last Thursday at the age of 74. In 1963 he recorded the groundbreaking electric guitar instrumentals “Memphis,” “Wham!”, “Chicken Pickin,” and “Suzie Q” and is considered the father of the “Blues Rock” genre.
