There’s No 2020 Republican Platform. There’s Just Trump.

August 26, 2020

There's No 2020 Republican Platform. There's Just Trump.

On Sunday the 2020 Republican National Committee announced that the 2020 GOP presidential campaign will not have a political platform, just a pledge of fealty to Donald Trump. Perhaps the Republican Party should now be called a Cult of Personality Disorder.

Trump Boosts His Business Interests In India

February 24, 2020

Trump Boosts His Business Interests In India
President Donald Trump, real estate promoter and U.S. President, is visiting the land of the Trump Organization’s largest foreign business interests, India. Fellow authoritarian ruler Prime Minister Narendra Modi will show Mr. Trump what a real mass rally looks like, and probably explain how to deprive Muslim residents of their citizenship. There will also be some arms deals and trade talks. President Trump will be returning to the U.S. in 48 hours since there are no Trump golf courses in India for him to cheat play on this weekend.

Update:

President Trump, First Lady Melania, White House Lifestyle Consultant Ivanka, and Secretary of Everything Jared all visited India’s most famous Muslim tomb, freshly cleaned for their enjoyment and photo-ops. PM Modi’s advisors scared off the neighborhood monkeys. Mr. Trump, a longtime admirer of India’s Islamic Mughal heritage, named his money-laundering  twice-bankrupt Atlantic City casino the Trump Taj Mahal.

El Caudillo Trump Demands Loyalty

May 12, 2017

El Caudillo Trump Demands Loyalty
President Donald Trump invited FBI Director James Comey to dinner in January and asked for his loyalty. Mr. Comey, a career law enforcement official, promised him honesty. Honesty clearly has no place in a Trump administration, so Comey was sacked, then threatened.

As former FBI agent Clint Watts, a fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, observes,  “Trump’s loyalty pledge tactic comes straight from the worst aspects of authoritarians and mob bosses who see their rule above the rule of law.”

Trump Role Model: Saddam Hussein

July 7, 2016

Trump Role Model: Saddam Hussein

Donald Trump, Tuesday night in Raleigh, North Carolina:

“Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right? … But you know what he did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read ’em the rights, they didn’t talk. They were a terrorist, it was over.”

— “Trump: Saddam killed terrorists ‘so good,'” Associated Press

These claims are nonfactual. Saddam killed no terrorists; he killed political opponents and ethnic minorities.

Mr. Trump previously claimed the world would be “100 percent better” if dictators like Saddam and Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi were still in power. Like them, Donald Trump wants to torture people, execute them without trial, and then kill their innocent relatives.
