This makes me feel very sad. Rudy Giuliani was a good mayor of New York City, especially during 911. He was an accomplished attorney as well, for many years prior.
Giuliani used the RICO Act in the mid 1980s to convict and imprison the heads of the five mafia families of New York. Giuliani did more to wipe out the infrastructure of organized crime than anyone else since 1943 in Chicago. Now his law license is suspended. I hope he can find his way back, and is not totally disbarred. He is not a young man. There isn’t much time.

“America’s Mayor” is an illusion. Giuliani wandered around the smoldering site of 9/11 instead of directing efforts from the city’s Emergency Mangement Command Center because, ignoring professional advice, he had located that Center on the 23rd floor of the World Trade Center, target of a previous terrorist attack in 1993.
9/11 first responders were unable to talk to each other because Giuliani’s political cronies were awarded a no-bid contract for their portable radios. Rudy Giuliani has always been a grifter.
As to “crime busting,” hundreds of FBI agents, city police, and state and Federal prosecutors spent 20 years working on the 5 Families cases before it was ready for US Attorney Rudy and several more qualified AUSAs, including Michael Chertoff. It is only fitting that FBI Agents recently removed evidence from Giuliani’s apartment.
Rudy Giuliani has long been a fraud, he’s just lost his knack for successful self-promotion and been caught. His law license should be permanently revoked. Probably his driver’s license and fishing license, too.
