“I don’t know what you’ve got (but it’s got me),” written by Don Covay, recorded by a soulful Little Richard, 1964. Little Richard (vocal, piano), Billy Preston (organ), Ronny Miller (bass), Bernard Purdie (drums). The guitarist was Jimi Hendrix, performing under the name Maurice James. Songwriter Covay provided harmony vocals.
