Lady, Play Your Mandolin!

“Lady, Play Your Mandolin!,” starring Foxy, was the first Merrie Melodies cartoon, released in 1931,  Directed by Rudolf Ising; principal animation by Rollin HamiltonNorm Blackburn, and Isadore Freleng; music supervisor: Frank Marsales, score performed by Abe Lyman and his Brunswick Recording Orchestra. Voice actors were uncredited.

“Lady, Play Your Mandolin!,”the title song, written by Oscar Levant and Irving Caesar, was first recorded commercially by Lloyd Keating and Elmer Feldkamp in 1930.
