Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, facing federal charges for continuing racial profiling, plans to station armed deputies at polling stations on election day in what is clearly an act of intimidation targeting latino voters. Not only is the 83-year-old Sheriff a firm Trump supporter, he’s up for re-election himself on November 8th. Mr. Arpaio, who has held office for the past 23 years, is trailing badly in the polls, so by suppressing the Mexican-American vote he helps himself as much as the GOP presidential candidate.

Good and the illegal immigrants and undocumented immigrants and the walking dead won’t be voting! GO JOE!

There is no evidence at all of undocumented immigrants voting. Mr. Arpaio has a history of regarding every Mexican-American resident as undocumented until proven otherwise and acting on this assumption, a violation of federal law. That’s why he is under indictment. Since federal marshals and DOJ lawyers will be at Maricopa County polling places on Election Day, Joe Arpaio may end up in federal custody sooner (and longer) than expected.
