“If You Gotta Make a Fool of Somebody,” written by Rudy Clark and recorded by James Ray in 1962, it reached #10 on Billboard. The song was also a UK hit for Freddie and the Dreamers in 1963, even though that version doesn’t even have a tuba on it.
