Nothin’ But A Tramp

“(I Call You Lover But) You Ain’t Nothin’ but a Tramp,” written by Bonnie Mack Rice and performed by Margie Hendrix (sometimes spelled Hendricks). Ms. Hendrix, a powerful singer, was a member of The Cookies, later known as The Raelettes, and responds to Ray Charles on the record “Hit the Road Jack.” Mr. Hendrix and Mr. Charles were lovers, and had a child before separating. She died in tragic circumstances in 1973.
