Bus Stop

“Bus Stop,” written by Graham Gouldman and recorded by The Hollies on May 18, 1966 at Abbey Road Studio, London. The opening lines of the lyrics were written by the songwriter’s father, poet and playwright Hyman R. Gouldman.

The record was the group’s first Top Ten hit in the USA. The Hollies at the time were Allan Clarke (lead vocals), Bobby Elliott (drums), Graham Nash (guitar, vocals), Bernie Calvert (bass), and Tony Hicks (guitar, vocals).
