“Children, Go Where I Send Thee” performed by Little Big Town on the 2012 “CMA Country Christmas” television special. Generally regarded as a traditional African American cumulative song, it seems to be a version of “The Twelve Apostles,” a camp meeting song which entered oral tradition. It was popularized by Jean Ritchie during the Folk Revival.
