New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is suing Donald Trump for $40 Million for running a fraudulent “University.” The 5,000 students, who paid up to $35,000 each, should have known the deal was a fraud, since there was a warning label. It said “Trump” right on it.
The litigious Mr. Trump, less familiar with the business end of a lawsuit, is undoubtedly looking for Attorney General Schneiderman’s birth certificate. He’s already claimed that political extortion and President Obama are behind the charges. We don’t have any birth certificates, but here’s a document from Schneiderman v. The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative LLC, 400965-2012, Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York (Manhattan).
The New York State AG claims Mr. Trump’s unlicensed “university” was a bait-and-switch scheme, offering free courses that were sales pitches for $1,000 courses that were really sales pitches for $10,000 and $35,000 courses. Forget about Schneiderman; Donald Trump is looking at a big-time lawsuit from the Church of Scientology for stealing its business model.
