Dissident artist Ai Weiwei is in trouble with Chinese authorities who say he owes millions in taxes on donations he received from around the globe. So how did he pay the $1.3 million tax case appeal bond? With donations.
Ai Weiwei has accused the state-run Global Times newspaper paper of helping the Public Security Bureau slander him. Mr. Ai recently posted the phone numbers of the Global Times editor and staff to his Twitter account to assist those who wish to express their displeasure at this.
In a move sure to draw worldwide ridicule, Chinese authorities are now building a pornography case again the artist for publishing nude photographs. Mr. Ai’s nude studies hardly seem designed for erotic titillation, as they center around humorous display of his own naked pudgy body. Chinese Netizens are expressing support by posting nude photos of themselves.
