The Queen’s Knickers

The Queen's Knickers

Queen Elizabeth II left a pair of her underdrawers on a private plane in 1968, and they’re being auctioned off to the highest bidder. A pair of Queen Victoria’s panties fetched $9,000 in a recent auction, and these royal bloomers are expected to fetch a similar price. Prospective bidders should keep on eye on Hanson’s, the Derbyshire auctioneers.

We think “The Queen’s Knickers” would be a super name for a pub or a jolly good title for a sequel to the film “The King’s Speech.”

Clean or dirty? May affect the price. And why does the Queen carry her purse around the royal residences as if she’s a tourist?

Antiquities, especially those associated with historical figures and celebrities, are more valuable if they show, um, patterns of use. I believe this item does.

… why does the Queen carry her purse around the royal residences as if she’s a tourist?

Perhaps she started doing that after she lost her pants on a plane in 1968. And she’s got so many houses she may keep a toothbrush in her bag as well as her glasses and undies.

Sheesh, these are fabulous but if you’re a woman, why in the world would I want to own another woman’s under garments… I’m a bona fide fashionista, and still not sure I’d frame these! 😉
