A big, fat, juicy American holiday is coming up — Meat Week, eight nights when plain folks just like you descend on barbecue joints, burger bars, and other animal flesh eateries to celebrate carnivorous consumption.
This year’s Meat Week: Sunday, January 31st to Sunday, February 7th (Super Bowl™ Sunday). This span includes Groundhog Day but we do not know if those critters are on the Meat Week menu.
Meat Week chapters will chomp on chops in 15 cities, but those who live elsewhere (and the anti-social) are also invited to observe the occasion. Some vegetarians are said to tag along, munching on sides of ‘slaw, but we know of no kosher or halal Meat Week tours. Lessmeatarians are also on their own.
This will be the first Meat Week celebration in the Nation’s Capital. We do not know if Red Meat Republicans will dine at separate tables.
