2010 King Holiday Jazz at Howard University

2010 King Holiday Jazz at Howard University

There will be many events commemorating the life and work of Dr. Marting Luther King, Jr. on this three-day holiday weekend. One of the warmest and most heartfelt will be the 24th annual music and poetry jam at Howard University’s Blackburn Center on Monday, January 18th, 12:30 pm to 10 pm, in the Ballroom and Hilltop Lounge (free; children welcome).

Last year’s event was shifted to Rankin Chapel due to Innaguration Week events but, as far as we know, Blackburn hosted the event for the preceding 22 years. The day-long celebration is is sponsored by the Office of the Director of the Blackburn University Center, in collaboration with Earl Banks Lettum Play. Drop by on Monday, and bring the family.
