All those bankers you bailed out with billions of your tax dollars are hard at work — in Las Vegas. The American Securitization Forum is meeting at the Venetian and Palazzo Resort and Casino.
The grueling four day meeting probably won’t give them much time to enjoy the amenities of the all-suite luxury resort — gondola rides on the private canals, scenic grounds, the golf courses, swimmimg pools, spas, fine restaurants, night clubs, or entertainment. The casinos, though, are open 24/7. CNBC’s Jane Wells is covering the meeting (poor dear) and says “things got more crowded as the night wore on, especially in the casino floor.”
Remember: casino workers have oversight, but the TARP and TALF billions don’t.
The Wall Street Journal‘s Liz Rappaport and Carrick Mollenkamp are gamely braving the cocktail parties to keep us informed.
