Blagojevich Sings!

Blagojevich Sings!

Blagojevich sings! Or sang, anyway. Not at yesterday’s performance, though, and not Elvis songs (the Governor does love the King, though).

He sang in Serbian.

Young Milorad “Rod” Blagojevich and his brother Robert, sons of  Serbian-born  Radisa  (“Rade”) and Serbian-American Lillie  Blagojevich, performed traditional tunes in the youth folk music programs of Old Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church on Chicago’s northwest side. We believe the brothers  played the traditional tamburitza or  tambura (details to come).

“Young Rod turned out to be quite the singer,” wrote Scott Fornek in the Chicago Sun-Times.

It’s not Elvis, but make no mistake: Tamburitza music is hot.
