DC Councilmember Tommy Wells has opened nominations for the 2nd Annual Livable, Walkable Community Awards. “What does livable, walkable mean to you, and who best represents what it takes to make it a reality?” asks the Ward 6 representative.
There are award categories for individual neighbors, community organizations, businesses, and government employees. District residents may make nominations here before 5:00 pm, November 28th. Awards will be presented December 4th at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, 1333 H Street, NE at the Councilman’s annual holiday party.
For more information, see Councilman Wells’ website.
Feel like a walk? The American Planning Association suggests “Great Neighborhood” Eastern Market and “Great Space” Union Station.
