Globe-hopping fugitive Karl Rove may have returned to the United States, or at least to Hollywood, California, which is pretty close. Mr. Rove bravely testified before some of the finest minds in our country, people who review television shows for newspapers and local TV stations. He assisted fellow Fox News personality Chris Wallace in pimping promoting network offerings for the coming season.
In the 21st Century, it is difficult to ascertain whether Mr. Rove faced his interrogators in the flesh during this grueling duel of wits or if he was on a satellite feed from another quadrant of the universe. Members of the Television Critics Association wouldn’t notice the difference, anyway.
Fox still has the opportunity to turn Mr. Rove’s Contempt of Congress unpleasantness into “Reality TV” of the first order. We strongly advise network producers to start working on Mr. Rove’s James Cagney imitation (“Come and get me, copper!”). Start now so he will be ready for prime time in the fall.
