The multinational beer brewing corporation !nBev, headquartered in Belgium, with operations in Brazil, Canada, Britain and who-knows-where, has made an angry, drunken advance unsolicited take-over bid for Anheuser-Busch, largest brewery in the U.S. of A. and brewer of Budweiser.
Budweiser! Holy Clydesdale! Is nothing sacred?
While everyone else examines the business and Wall Street angles of this all-cash $46 billion deal (as if US dollars weren’t play money in the rest of the world), and whether Busch Stadium will have to change its name, consider this:
GOP First Lady Presumptive Cindy Lou McCain is the hereditary Anheuser-Busch Princess of Phoenix, Arizona, a kingdom worth millions. If Belgian flag !nBev buys Anheuser-Busch, could it be that Mrs. McCain will be required to register as an agent of a foreign country?
Nah, me neither. Got another cold one?

!nBev (which may mean something in Walloon) and the !nBev logo are registered trademarks of !nBev; Anheuser-Busch and half the logos in America are registered trademarks of the Anheuser-Busch Cos. Trademarks are used here to avoid brand confusion and having to write “a certain huge St. Louis brewer” and similar coy locutions.
