The West Virginia Democratic Primary is Tuesday, so we can expect Senator Clinton to seek out the worst local working-class stereotypes to mimic. The state is 95 percent white, poor, and few residents went to Wellesley and Yale with the Senator, since only 17 percent of West Virginians have college degrees.
This will be more embarrassing to watch than Pennsylvania, and even less convincing. Perhaps some old-time sitcom writers could work with it, but not Senator Clinton’s speechwriting team.
Three words, Senator Clinton: make it stop. You look foolish acting the rube, and your husband is coming across as Pitchfork Ben Tillman, not Andy Griffith. It’s bad for y’all, bad for your party, and bad for the country. Just, um, micturate on the fire and call in the dogs. Bill knows what I mean.
