DC Team Wins Super Bowl

The Beacon House Falcons of Edgewood Terrace won Pop Warner Football’s Pee Wee Division I Super Bowl championship at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida on Saturday, besting the Tustin (California) Black Cobras 38 to 14.

The Falcons play in the in DC’s Metropolitan Police Boys & Girls League; the Pee Wee Division is for players 9 to 11 years old who weigh 75 to 120 lbs. and 12-year-olds who weigh 75 to 100 lbs.

Beacon House in Northeast Washington, DC features volunteer tutoring programs as well as sports and other activities.

The 2006 defending champs in the heavier Midget Division, Washington’s Marshall Heights Bisons, made it to the quarterfinals before yielding to Florida’s Lakeshore Raiders.

To both DC contenders: well done. Maybe you can help coach that NFL Team in Maryland that bears our city’s name. They need all the help they can get.

Congratulations to the 2007 Super Bowl champs, The Beacon House Falcons.
