The New York State Senate has passed the Marriage Equality Act legalizing same-sex marriage, and Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed it into law. Same-sex marriage is legally recognized in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Iowa and the District of Columbia.
