The Pope is on Twitter

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI fired up his iPad II and used L’Osservatore Romano‘s Twitter account to hype the Vatican online news portal:

”Dear Friends, I just launched www.news.va. Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings, Benedictus XVI.”

122 characters. Oh, pardon, that’s CXXII.

And you don’t have to be Catholic to follow Pope Benedict. Mirabile dictu, he’s on Facebook.

Update: ” Blagojevich’s trademark hair will be safe in prison,” Kurt Erickson, pantagraph.com

June 26, 2011

Cute Aimi Eguchi (above) is a member of the Japanese girl group AKB48. She’s also a computer product, completely digital. The cybersongstress was created by sampling the attributes and actions of other singers in the group, synthesizing “Aimi,” then uploaded the result to the adoring public, who regarded her as another aidoru (アイドル), a pop idol. Now they know she’s a digital diva, but they dig it.
