God’s Plan: Sarah Palin on Fox News

God's Plan: Sarah Palin on Fox News

It was God’s Plan for Sarah Palin to help the GOP lose the Presidency last year. The former Temp Governor didn’t get elected, but she is now among the Elect. Mrs. Palin has signed a contract to appear as a sideshow attraction commentator on Fox News.

Mrs. Palin has had plenty of journalism experience – and not just with Katie Couric.  She earned a degree in journalism after attending five of America’s finest backwater colleges (one of them twice), and worked as a sportswriter for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman and as a professional broadcaster  on KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV in Anchorage.

Mrs. Palin’s writing style is too incoherent for broadcast, even on Fox, and ghostwriter Lynn Vincent may not be available, but the program can start tomorrow. Over the past two years Sarah Palin has capably memorized and performed scripts from the Howard Beale Show.

I’m thinking that someone who earned their undergraduate English degree from SUNY-Buffalo, or who spent five years as a “radio traffic assistant/duplication supervisor,” would probably be just a *BIT* more judicious about taking the kind of judgmental potshots you did here with Palin.

In my search this evening to find some substantive commentary or discussion on Palin’s dubious move to Fox News I took a chance on reading your latest post. I was rather disappointed to find it read just like any other second-rate, pop-off rant on the Huffington Post, riddled with the usual tiresome and cliche-ridden criticisms levelled at Palin.

While I am flattered that you expended 633 characters on your comment instead of your usual 140, you left out the part where I write under my own name, Mr/Ms./Mrs. “Not N. Obot.” Your ace analytical skills (on my own blog) should have revealed that I worked for a public radio station during graduate school, and thus have more education (and broadcast media experience) than Mrs. Palin (and you, apparently).

But of course I am not committing journalism here. The graphic, tone, blog description, and links to classic films are clues recognized by most English-speaking adults.

I was rather disappointed to find it read just like any other second-rate, pop-off rant …

More amusing, though. But don’t take my word for it. Check with someone who has a sense of humor.

What other type of criticisms could there be than the “usual tiresome and cliche-ridden criticisms” for such a tiresome and cliche-ridden fool as Palin< I ask you, ObNot?

Mike, I like the crossed-out "sideshow attraction" cliche. Not at all tiresome. Totally spot on.

In her interview with Bill. he asked her whether it was a lie that she didn’t know the difference between North and South Korea. Of course, she said she knew. I really wanted him to ask her to explain it.

I have searched and searched and cannot find any documentation on the fact the Sarah Palin ever actually received a university degree. None of her former professors can even remember her. Strangely curious that a person so determined to influence the nation today left no impression or impact within the minds of her mentors.

The media have verified that Mrs. Palin does indeed hold a degree in, of all things, Communication/Journalism from the University of Idaho. It was granted in 1987, the second time the lady (then named Sarah Heath) attended U of Idaho. In fact, Miss Heath attended 5 colleges in 6 years, one of them twice, an extremely odd educational history which has never been explained.

Mr. O’Reilly would never do that. Could he determine whether her answer was correct? No.

Mike, if you had read Sarah Palin’s book you would know exactly why she attended 5 colleges in six years. On page 45 she explains that she had to WORK to afford to go to school and had to take time off from school to be able to EARN enough for her next term.

She was very uncomfortable getting involved in the beauty pagents for scholarship money to continue her edcation but managed to take away some very positive things that would help her in her political future.

I guess in your world, determination and positive work ethics are traits to be ridiculed.

    Not in mine!

you mean Lynn Vincent’s book about Sarah Palin. We’ve already seen examples of Mrs. Palin’s writing, chiefly on Twitter and at her abdication ceremony.

… you would know exactly why she attended 5 colleges in six years. On page 45 she explains that she had to WORK to afford to go to school and had to take time off from school to be able to EARN enough for her next term.

Many of us worked our way through school (your pal ObNot doesn’t seem to realize that). If this feeble premise were true, why was it not expressed during Ms. Palin’s five months on the vicepresidential campaign trail? Answer: Because it simply does not explain 5 schools in six years.

It explains volumes when you look at it correctly, though. Remember: Sarah Heath, now Sarah Palin, quit 5 colleges after a year or less.

P.S.: LKYPRL? Any relation to Mxyzptlk?
