Is anything more stupid than Congress investigating the training practices of Major League Baseball? Yes! Congress practicing experimental medicine!
Grown Congressmen persist in wasting their time and citizen money investigating whether has-been MLB stars engaged in illicit self-medication, taking for granted that the alleged illicit procedures actually work. When it comes to the use of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) to add muscle mass, medical science doesn’t think so. Maybe the Honorable Members can look into monkey glands and snake oil while they have our attention.
And they have our attention. Boy, do they. This garbage science and garbage governing has thoroughly clogged the news-hole. A hotly-contested presidential race, U.S. show trials by tribunal, and two American wars are “In other news.” And now this indigestible mess is going to move through the body politic to clog the Federal Courts.
Government! Media! Get a grip. In the words of Dr. Casey Stengel, “Can’t anybody here play this game?”
