Elvis is Alive: Moving Back to Mississippi

Elvis is Alive - Moving Back to Mississippi

The Elvis is Alive Museum of Wright City, MO has been sold on eBay and will leave its long-time home, a converted laundromat, to move closer to the Presley Birthplace.

Andy Key’s winning bid of $8,000 will allow him to move the massive mound of memorabilia to Mississippi, possibly Laurel, Jackson or Hattiesburg. That will put it near the Presley Birthplace site in Tupelo, which is also known for . . . some other stuff.

I know it is hard to imagine, but the Smithsonian Institution does not appear to have even bid on this material, which could have been installed in that empty, neglected, run-down Arts and Industries Museum on the National Mall.

Elvis goes to Mississippi; the Smithsonian A & I Museum remains a hollow, echoing, empty shell, another tragic victim of government inaction.

I can’t write more. I’m all shook up.
