Kudos to DC Government Chief Technology Officer Vivek Kundra. I gave him a hard time just because the “Search” function on the District’s web page was hidden, marked “Please login or register.” Right when the Mayor announced a new partnership with Google to operate that search function, too.
Now there is a nice inviting “What can we help you find?” right above the box, and a big “GO” next to it. Good job.
I know some folks miss the big, smiling face of Mayor Fenty that beamed down from the right-hand corner of each page before the re-do. Win some; lose some.
It even looks like they took the advertising of the DC Public Schools At search function, which were kind of questionable policy. Now they just have to get the AreaConnect ad button off the DCPS home page.
Anyway, good work, Mr. Kundra. Keep it up. Remember: now that we can find the search function, we can find you.
